本剧讲述工程造价师苏筱（孙俪 饰）在国企因背锅被开除，后进入民营企业振华集团。凭借出众的能力，苏筱被提拔为集团副总经济师，卷入集团复杂微妙的政治斗争，并在夏明（赵又廷 饰）的引导和帮助下，一步步走上振华集团董事长的位置的故事。

（英语）The story revolves around a female cost engineer named Su Xiao and her growth journey in the male-dominated construction industry. In her first job at a state-owned enterprise, Su Xiao is used as a scapegoat for a construction accident and gets fired later on. Then she starts from scratch in a smaller, less-known construction firm, and works her way up to the CEO of the group with hard work and dedication. However, this isn’t smooth sailing at all. She has to face office politics, fight against the glass ceiling for females and deal with male directives with seniority who just don’t like her. Luckily, she has Xia Ming, an experienced colleague to guide her through the hardships.
